"Free Oil Tank Removal" - Effective August 2, 2006 the PUST Fund (Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Fund) provides funding to eligible applicants to help finance project costs for the closure/removal and closure/removal/replacement of a non-leaking residential underground storage tank (UST).
- Funding up to $1,200 may be awarded for the closure/removal of a non-leaking residential UST.
- Funding up to $3,000 may be awarded for the closure/removal/replacement of a non leaking residential UST.
- Tanks must be replaced with an Aboveground Storage Tank (AST).
- The program is a reimbursement program.
- The applicant is required to pay the remediation company and the reimbursement is sent directly to the customer.
- The remediation company will assist eligible customers with the application for submittal to the NJEDA.
- The NJEDA does require a $250 non refundable application fee payable to "NJEDA" with all submitted applications.
- The $250 application fee is the responsibility of the applicant.

Eligibility
- Applicants with a non- leaking oil tank must have an annual income of less than $250,000
- Net worth, excluding applicant's primary residence and pension (401 K, IRA's), not more than $500,000
- Job site must be applicant's primary residence.
- Contractor must be licensed with the NJDEP and participating in the PUST Fund.
Applicants with a leaking residential underground storage tank (UST) are also eligible, however applications go through the NJDEP first before submission to the NJEDA for Reimbursement.
