2- More so, you may be missing the chance at a life-altering opportunity. After wasting countless hours waiting for your return call or message, the person will bark, “The heck with you,” and quite possibly make the next person in their iPod wealthy.
3- Listening to advice at meetings, but then ignoring it. Remember the administrator at numerous companies who cancels every outside opportunity because it isn’t “their” idea? Keep your mind open for ideas that originate from experience.
4- "Always See a Salesman Once.” Franklin Watts (1904-1978) Good ideas come from many sources. Their company pitch might be something your people could incorporate.
5- Junk email, or spam, is a small penalty to pay for express contact from your
regulars, and to know positively that everyone is performing up to snuff and that you haven’t screwed up big time. You could also build your swipe file with these messages.
6- Everyone, clients, suspects, prospects, and complainants, need to work with “real
people”. Using anonymous names like service@, customerservice@, info@, or the absolute worst, donotreply@, turns people off and steers them to the competition.
7- Still don’t want to place your real name in the spotlight? You don’t have to. Use a “nom de plume” like MickeySpillane@. Whoever answers the phone can say, “Mickey Spillane’s line. Mickey’s out of the office right now. This is Sam Spade, how may I help you?”
