Do you know it is illegal for an owner or a super to apply any form of a pesticide to a rental unit vacent or not. According to the law, you are ONLY allowed to treat your OWN residence that you personally live in.
If a tenant gets sick from anything you apply, and reports you, you not only can go to jain but end up with a very large fine.
Looking for more answers? feel free to ask me questions.

OIC. Thought you meant it was illegal for anyone to apply pesticides... and I knew that did not make sense...lol.....

Eric you are correct. I started off my saying this is the job of the pest company not the super, property manager or investor. Thats why companies like myself exist, because we are qualified, licened and insured.
The law is you MUST hire a licensed pest company to treat any property that is currently occupied.

I've seen many pest companies treating apartment buildings, etc. I've had it done in my multi families. Can you tell me the law, or send me a link??

Hi Harvey,
Very good question. If you are using drione outside the structure, it's ok as long as you follow all label directions. You have to be concerned of wind and other aliments that may create run off and effect non target pests. Dusting inside a wall within the structure is not allowed as it is now considered what I stated in my original point. I hope this has been beneficial to you?
