I have a very simple job this Thursday for a contractor who know's repair costs for all parts of a home including, facade, roof, windows/doors, landscaping, garage, bedrooms, kitchen, family room, foyer/hallway, bathrooms, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and basement. If your looking to get numbers from a GC I would recommend going to your local Home Depot and writing down the names of general contractors who pull up in the parking lot.  Write down names and numbers of at least 5 GC's (contact info is usually displayed on the there truck or van).  Tell them you would like to spend a day with them for consulting purposes and will pay a flat rate.  You want a knowledgeable GC whose done several projects and need to spend half a day picking there brain on estimating costs to put together packages on your wholesale deals.  It might cost you like $250 or even $500 for the day for actual write ups on several properties; but with a complete detailed report you can use that as a guideline for other wholesale deals to get a realistic figure.  For more free tips sign up at www.recessionproofbuilding.com  its a month long series of report and to understand true cost and how much you should pay for a home.

I haven't done the rehab tour yet so I can't recommend but I believe this will be very helpful for you judging the amount of people that already signed up.  Good luck, Cornelius
